By: Maxwell Lehmann (9th)

Sammy Muhlrad, born and raised in Miami, is 16 years old, in 11th grade, and has been attending the Hebrew Academy since 6th grade. He has two siblings, one of whom attends our school, as well as his cousins, the Schusters.

Sammy Muhlrad has many intriguing hobbies, one of which is flying planes. Sammy admitted that he has been interested in flying since he was young and started taking lessons after his Bar Mitzvah. He admitted, “I’ve always been interested in aviation”.

He recently earned his pilot's license after many years of practice, his most notable experience being a flight to Key West. Sammy described his experience saying, “It was very cool to fly with the big airliners into Key West.”

He is not interested in the commercial realm but wants to be a cargo pilot when he is older.

Sammy also has a boating license and often goes boating and jet skiing with his cousins. “My whole family has been boating since before I was born,” disclosed Sammy. “The best part about Miami is the easy access to intercoastal waters.”
